Every figure at the negotiating table has a source.

Every negotiation target is data-driven and traceable: we combine your contract with price drivers and the index, the supplier’s position and our negotiators’ experience. You can use the public tools for this here, free of charge.

Data cube: from contract to benchmarkA cube of data points. Five points are highlighted and connected to form a path: your contract, industry metric, price drivers and index, supplier’s position, benchmark for your negotiation. The benchmark lies at the centre of the cube.12345
  1. Your contract: your cleaning service provider announces an increase of 12.0%.
  2. Industry metric: the wage component accounts for 75% of the price (assumption).
  3. Price drivers and index: the agreed wage for 2027 rises by 1.8% (offer) to 13.3% (demand).
  4. Supplier’s position: can the supplier afford a reduction? Its financial statements, the market situation and your share of its revenue tell you.
  5. Benchmark for your negotiation: at most 10.0% instead of 12.0% can be justified. The supplier must provide evidence for 2.0 percentage points.

Example: commercial cleaning. The calculation is shown further down.

Five building blocks make every negotiation target traceable

Each building block answers one question before the negotiation. Together they produce the price we negotiate for you, and the reasoning behind it.

  • Price drivers

    freely accessible

Which part of the price is really getting more expensive?

Wages, materials, energy and travel by category, each with its change and source.

  • Terms Index

    freely accessible

How much will wages and prices rise in 2027?

Minimum wage, collective agreements, diesel and surcharges, every figure with its source, updated quarterly.

  • Contract and clauses

    freely accessible

    What does your contract allow?

The price adjustment clause, term and notice period determine your room for manoeuvre. We check every announcement against them.

  • Supplier’s position

    as part of a mandate

Can the supplier afford a reduction?

Published financial statements, the market situation and your share of its revenue show how much room for manoeuvre the supplier has.

  • Our negotiators’ experience

    as part of a mandate

What can be achieved at the table?

More than 25 years in senior procurement positions and more than 8,000 supplier meetings: we bring this experience to the table. We know which arguments work.

Your negotiation target

A plausible, reasoned price that your supplier can recalculate.

Example: commercial cleaning, justifiable at most10.0%instead of the 12.0% announced

Today we work with public collective agreements, indices and prices, with the documents from your mandate and with our negotiators’ experience. Benchmarks from client projects will be added from 2027, only aggregated from at least five companies, anonymised and with no way of tracing them back to clients or suppliers. We do not publish the prices of individual suppliers.

  • Cost Driver Tree

Before you negotiate: you can see for each category whether to resist an increase or reduce the price.

27 documented price drivers in 31 categories

24 of the 27 documented price drivers are rising by 2% or more; 3 are stable. For 11 others, there is no reliable public figure. Figures and sources are in the Cost Driver Tree.

  • Check a price increase

When your supplier asks for more: you calculate which part is justified and reply with figures.

    justifiableat most 10.0%

Example, commercial cleaning: the supplier must provide evidence for 2.0 percentage points.

  • Price adjustment clause

When you sign or renew a contract: you agree that only the cost share is adjusted, both up and down.

How data becomes a negotiation target

Worked example for commercial cleaning: the service provider announces 12.0%; the wage component accounts for 75% of the price (assumption).

  1. Read the contract

    announced12.0%

The price, price adjustment clause, term and notice period can be found in the contract and invoices.

  2. Break down the price

    Wage component, assumption75%

Which drivers make up the price, and with what share?

  3. Measure the change

Collective agreement 2027, wage group 1+1.8 to +13.3%

Collective agreement, index or raw material price for each driver, with its source.

  4. Calculate what is justifiable

    justifiable at most10.0%

Share times change, using the upper limit while the collective agreement is still open.

  5. Set the target

    not explained2.0 percentage points

The supplier must provide evidence for the rest before you agree.
